Proprioception (Kinaesthetic) – body’s ability to sense movement, action, location; sensing moving through space & time; moving without needing to think ‘what next?’; present in joints & muscles.
Neuroception – body scanning the environment for cues of safety or danger; connected to the nervous system; adaptive reactions of the nervous system; expression & disruption of social behaviour; safety & trust.
Interoception – inner sensing; know when hungry, thirsty, need the toilet; helps with response to environment & predict the actions of others; capacity to regulate their internal state & promote interpersonal interactions.
Kinaesthetic Sense – ability to sense body movement – space / force / gravity; learning style that involves physical movement.
Aesthetic – how take in & respond to the aesthetic environment, how the various stimuli are taken in & if pleasurable or problematic.
Vestibular – connected to movement & balance. Co-ordination of eye movements, posture, equilibrium, movement of head in particular – high levels of anxiety often present.
